Northern New England Human Powered Vehicle Rally

May 4 2024- Kennebunk, Maine, southern Wabanakiik.

Now in its 19th year, the (Northern) New England Human Powered Vehicle Rally is being held to celebrate pedal powered vehicles of all types as the fun, exciting, healthful and ultra low carbon footprint, climate friendly transportation options that they are!

This year, in addition to a morning Show and Shine, meet and greet event, we will be participating in the Kennebunk May Day Parade which promises to be a fun and exciting addition to the event.

The day’s pedal celebration will wrap up with a ride out to the beautifully scenic Kennebunk beaches with a local stop for a snack.

When: On Saturday, May 4, from 9:30 AM-4 PM

Where: Rain or shine, Rogers Pond Park, Kennebunk, ME in Southern Wabanakiik

Suggested Donation: $25 to help cover the cost of insurance. The event insurer requires that we have you sign a waiver before participating. Waivers will be available at the event.

Please RSVP by email , phone or text (207 423-7360).

Schedule: Saturday, May 4, 2024

10:00-12:30: Morning Expo (show and tell)

12:45, stage for May Day Parade on Water Street in Kennebunk, ME. The Parade starts at 1:30.

2:30 (approx.) Following the parade we will take a ride out to the beaches in Kennebunk.

The Expo portion of the event consists of show and tell presentations and the chance to interact one-on-one with the owners. Test rides may be had at the discretion of the owners.

The Expo session will offer newbies and old hands alike the opportunity to experience the diversity of human powered vehicles. This is the perfect chance to interact with owners, ask them questions about their ride and check out the machines first hand. A wide variety of machines have been at past events; everything from fully enclosed velomobiles to load carrying machines to electric assisted cycles.

There are no restrictions on the types of human powered vehicles that may participate in the rally – except that they must have at least partially human powered drive mechanisms and must be roadworthy to participate in the on-road ride.
